Daniel also texted me non-stop while I was there. Mostly love poems he had written. It was very confusing. He was actually in Oregon- at my school-, University of Oregon at an environmental conference while I was there. I even arranged for my friends to prank him while he was there. He met my friend Skylar and Beth and saw the artwork in the library- including the piece inspired by me. He wrote about me (and tagged me) on Instagram and Facebook about the concert I went to and the art show I referred him to. I think we were both really pleased and made plans to have dinner on my return. We ended up having a miscommunication while I was in the air on the way back though- he texted me and I didn't receive it- and I thought he was standing me up or flaking and he thought I was pouting because he couldn't take me to the airport early in the morning. So we never grabbed dinner. Which was disappointing and we were both being very sensitive. We had already defined that nothing was happening between us so I just took it at face value, but in retrospect, I sort of wish I had pushed our conversations more. We were being fairly affectionate and open and I don't know what could have happened if I pushed the envelope. We made plans to go to dinner after he came back from Australia in a couple of weeks... but things changed and that didn't happen either. I really regret that.
My dinner at Balthazar's- pomme frites and wine!
